« The associative world, the beautiful citizen energies, companies, states are mobilizing for our biodiversity. The La Gacilly Photo Festival too. By keeping our eyes open to the world, by sowing images of hope, by marveling at the miracle of nature, by questioning ourselves about our sometimes thoughtless quest for progress, by inviting especially in our village of Morbihan photographers who all have in common to explore the world on the move, through the prism of their creativity, their artistic sensibility or their documentary testimonies. As often, artists remain the spokespersons of the upheavals of the world. It is certainly difficult to define in a few exhibitions all the subtleties of a continent as vast as Latin America. For this 17ette 17e edition of the La Gacilly Photo Festival, happily titled Viva Latina! , we wanted to highlight a photograph strongly imbued with the complexity of its history, crossed by revolutions and hopes, by the entanglement of its customs, between Western dreams and shamanic beliefs, by the ardor of its society, marked by violence and a formidable want to live.vre. »
