By offering a second life to Bernard Lesaing's photographic work published in 1981, this reissue wishes to place it in another temporality, and thus share it with a new audience. Share of course the aesthetic, poetic and documentary quality of these photographs, but also the irresistible desire to bring to light, forty years later, an extraordinary human and artistic adventure.

Created by Paul Roulleau, poet and visionary farmer, Cirque Bidon carries its tribe, its imagination and its language far beyond what he could imagine himself at the very beginning of his adventure. How many circus or street artists have one day decided to take to the road after crossing the trailers and horses of the Cirque Bidon at the bend of a path Touched by the anachronism and the daring of the approach just as much that by the human warmth of this band of colorful artists, how many budding circus artists have dreamed over the pages of this book which has become rare, and therefore almost mythical ?

The reissue of this book takes on its full meaning in this invitation to (re) discover a very real story made up of friendship, desires, convictions and utopias. That of young people who, taking a radical path without oil, electricity or property, have certainly not changed the world, but have certainly invented one, here under the sensitive gaze of a young photographer.
